The Philosophy of an Expansive Practice: Surrender, Catharsis & Illumination is a three-piece 11x17 poster project that examines the abstract thinking that goes into fostering an expansive & transformative creative process.

Featuring Pangram Pangram’s Migra (display) and Neue Montreal (body) type, the viewer is immersed in a series of excerpts featuring a profoundly philosophical, thought-provoking monologue regarding the facilitation of a reflective practice. The piece carries themes of minimalist and brutalist idealogy through its visual language by integrating a highly structured composition, limited color palette, and abstract yet delicately ambient images. Though the language and imagery can be considered inherently nihilistic, the overarching intent of the triptych is to inspire the viewer to look inward. It emphasizes an acceptance of emotional and spiritual identity, through the reclamation of pain, guilt, shame and fear.
